In
1946, Clarence N. Annen (George’s father)
started dealing in used farm equipment at a small
yard on the Northeast corner of Madison,
Wisconsin. Later, he moved to Windsor and started
Annen’s Machinery Ranch. George worked for his
Dad while in high school.

During
his senior year, he bought his own one-ton truck
and started his own venture, which at that time
was called Equipment Exchange. George and Clarence
worked closely together and upon Clarence’s
semi-retirement, George bought-out the remaining
assets and formed Annen’s Machinery Ranch,
Incorporated, and moved it to its present-day
location on U.S Highway 51, approximately ¾ of a
mile North of I-39, 90/94.

and his employees -- Al Karls and
